R450 – Do you think the sport will keep moving forward after this year?
I think the production classes will. That’s the best thing to happen so far.
R450 – Should there be some more Midwest races around Casey?
I’m glad Casey is on the schedule, I’d like to see some more in the same area.
R450 – Other than money, what are the biggest challenges for up and coming riders?
Keeping your bike up to date, staying consistent and being in good shape.

R450 – Any advise for other racers following in your footsteps?
Stay away from bad food. Don’t kill yourself with weights. I like to ride fitness bikes – anything to work on your endurance. You don’t want to wear yourself out in the first few laps, it’s easier to pick people off throughout the race.
R450 – How do you train when your not at the track?
I’ve got a practice track I ride all summer. In the winter I race the indoor series at Sturgis and Murray, KY.
R450 - We saw you at Sturgis last year, great job. Any sponsors you would like to thank?
Yamaha of Southern Illinois, JB Racing, Baldwin Motorsports, Legacy ATV, Douglas Wheel, TC Racing, PEP, K&N, Galfer, Scott Goggles and ITP, Hinson, Quadtech, Maier Plastic, Tag Metals, and K&M Racing Products.
Cale offered to let us try out his new YFZ 450 and last season’s Walsh framed DRZ 440, we spent the rest of the interview playing, we’ll save that for another story.
