Entering Moto 2 the feeling was not so easy going. The riders passed through the fence, pulled up to the gate and the only chatting was done with their mechanic for a few minutes before the starting gate dropped.

This time Doug managed a slightly better start but was still far from taking the holeshot. Luckily, Doug developed a good rhythm in the technical section of the track and blazed to the front in only one short section while other riders were struggling with their timing. Jasmin Plante (JPMX) was now leading Gust and the only thing between Doug and the lead. Within only one lap Doug managed a pass for the lead and quickly walked away from the pack developing an over twenty second lead to the finish. Jones took second position and John Natalie overtook third for a 3-3 finish for second overall. Making the Podium would be Gust with the win, Natalie and Kory Ellis (Alba/ATVSCENE/Kenda) placing a 4-4 took third overall. Just missing the podium was Tim Far (4th) and Jasmin Plante (5th).

Dana Creech took a wild ride in the Georgia sand,
he finished the race only bruised and beaten.

After the winner celebration and hosing of the crowd we followed Doug back to the Suzuki trailer for a quick interview and recap of the day. Doug’s Interview by Ryan Webb can be viewed this month along with that of AM-Production rider Cale Downen (# 727).
