R450: You had a good first moto and a great second moto, what happened in moto 1?
Tim: Well, I had a really bad pick on the line in the first moto and came out in some heavy mud. I only had an inside line and the first turn is a hard 90 degree and I knew that I would end up in a jam so I backed off and came out of the turn in ninth and worked my way up to fourth. I wish that I could have made it into third because then I would have won the overall for the race.

R450: What about moto 2?
Tim: The start is so important, and in moto 2 I came out just behind Wimmer and just rode him to show him a wheel once in a while. I was just trying to wear him down a bit. I knew that we had pulled away from anyone in third, so I just wanted to keep the pressure on him. I knew I didn’t have to worry about taking any big chances or making some kind of crazy pass, so I just put it on cruise and stayed with him. His pace slowed as he got tired. I knew I just needed to set him up and pass him where I did.

R450: There was a pretty big pile up here in the second moto. Were you out in front of that or did you have to make your way around it?
Tim: Both starts there were some pretty good pile-ups. I was in front of the pile up in the second moto. First moto there was a little pile up that I was kind of in, but I broke free. That one was in the second corner right hand turn. The thing is, if you get caught in them you just put your head down and ride as hard as you can.

R450: What do you think of the track here at Red Bud?
Tim: Red Bud is a really good track; it is one of my favorites. Actually, this is probably my favorite track. It has a good combination of everything. They have whoops now. They have fun jumps and big sweeping corners. Some high-speed straights, I mean it has a little bit of everything. So it makes for a really good track.
