R450 – Is female training different than men’s, what do you do to train?
I ride two or three times each week, I run, visit the gym and ride horses. It’s not really much different for women.
R450 – Do you have a practice track?
Yes, it’s about a mile long. The jumps aren’t huge but it’s really tight and it really works you out.
R450 – Do you think the ATVA offers enough in the series for women?
I think so right now, at least until we get more competitors.
What’s a good way for women to get involved with this sport?
Just go out there and do it.
R450 – Do you feel like the ATVA or Promoters treat the women ranks fairly; or at least listen? They don’t listen to us!
(Laughs) All the girls usually meet together to talk about things, it seems to be working out.
R450 - How about Sponsorship, do companies work well with women racers?
No. To be honest, it’s harder. After winning a championship I thought something would happen, but it hasn’t changed much. I get the normal things – discounts, not much else except with Media Allstars.
R450 - Do you get much attention from the media?
I did an interview with ATV Sport over the phone one time. That’s about it.
R450 - Is there anything you look forward to seeing in the future of ATV racing?
More Girls. When you race four people every week (There are currently only four competitors in the Women’s A Class) you don’t feel like you accomplish anything.
R450 - This season some new tracks were added, what did you think about Glen Helen?
I flew out there, it was spur of the moment. I didn’t decide to go until the week before. I liked the track, it was my first race on a four stroke. I didn’t like the wind much.
R450 - What don’t you like about ATV Racing, everybody has something to add?
I don’t like it when they don’t groom the tracks properly, when you end up with a one line track or excessive blue-groove.
