Cindy Hart: More than just Doug's Girlfriend (Page 2)
By: Ryan Webb
R450: Did you like the trip all the way out to the west coast?
Cindy: I flew out, and had somebody take my quad for me.
R450: What are you looking for as far as the rest of the season?
Cindy: I'm hoping that I can still get the championship. I think if I hadn't gotten hurt that I would've won the championship, but I missed those three races. I'm only five points down, but I'm coming back injured. I hope I'll at least get second, but I want to win.
R450: What did you actually do when you hurt yourself?
Cindy: I broke two ribs and my collarbone. That happened in Virginia about seven weeks ago. My collarbone won't ever heal right because it is separated about five millimeters.
R450: That has to be hard on you while you are out there racing.
Cindy: It doesn't really hurt that bad, but it hurts afterwards. It swells up and gets sore.
R450: Well, you're riding pretty smooth out there, is there any section that is giving you a hard time.
Cindy: The whoops, Laughs. I don't have the strength to pull up on the front of the quad right now because of my collarbone, so I can't wheelie across them. That's pretty much it though.
R450: I know that the whoops are pretty rough out here, and the double-double section is tough.
Cindy: Yeah, I know that I could do all of the doubles, but I'm trying not to jump too much in case I come up short or something. I don't want to take a risk at all of hurting myself again.
R450: So what did you think of LaRocco's Leap?
Cindy: I doubled it last year. As far as tripling it, it would be nice to see a quad try it.
R450: It would be tough to do, I stepped it off and it is about 115 feet from lip to lip.
Cindy: That's a pretty big up hill triple!
R450: Who's your biggest competition right now?
Cindy: Heather Gaul, she rides a Suzuki.
R450: At least the Suzuki is doing well.
Cindy: Laughs, yeah that's true.
R450: So who are your sponsors.
Cindy: Nielson Suzuki, Yoshimura, ITP, M2R, Shift, Hinson Clutches, Streamline Brakes, Roll Design, IMS, and of course Doug Gust, he gets me everything I don't get sponsored for. Laughs. He's probably my biggest sponsor.
