Was it in Georgia that you hurt your arm?
Yeah, I was in practice on Friday. Last one of the day and my boyfriend Gill said to take this tabletop before the finish a little faster. Well, I did. I overshot it and landed front end first and the impact through out my elbow.

How bad is it?
I was in cast for 6 weeks and I’ve been in this brace for 4 weeks. I went to the doctor on Tuesday and he said it’s not healing well so I’ll be in a Bone Growth Stimulator for about 4 weeks for 4 hours a day.

Do think you’ll be able to do a race this season?
No, I wanted to at least be able to come to Loretta’s and just try it but I don’t think I’ll even be able to do that. I’ll come back next season full throttle and give it all I’ve got.

Have you got any plans to race in the off season?
Actually I just train in the winter time. I do a lot of Kick Boxing and Cardiovascular.

How did you get started in that?
I’ve always just been a workout-a-holic. That’s important in racing, staying in shape over the off season.

How about being a girl in racing?
It’s a little bit hard. When you come back off the track and say it needs this, they think you don’t know what you’re talking about. My father brought me up to work on my own bikes so I can pretty much tell them what’s up.

What about on the track?
At home there wasn’t a women’s class. Guys would talk to me but if I did good, at the second moto they would ignore me. They didn’t want anything to do with me.

How about out here?
Everybody out here is excellent? Everybody talks to everybody.

Have you run in any guy classes out here?
No. We actually talked about it for next year, but, if you’re running in a women’s a class for a title…

What are some of the other plans you’ve got?
Just seeing how things go next year. If I have good luck, I’ll keep with it. If I have bad luck I may hang up the helmet and say alright, I’m 21, I’ll try some other things now. I would love to get into racing cars. I love it. My father and my brother race dirt track stock cars. Way to expensive though.

As far as sponsors go, do you take care of that yourself?
East Coast just kind of picked me up, I’ve never sent out any resumes. If people talk to me sometimes it works out. In California, Anthony from Douglas Wheels asked why he didn’t have my resume and I said I just don’t send them out. He gave me a card and faxed me a contract and we worked it out.

How about what we are doing now, do you get much attention from magazines or press?
Nope.

We really don’t understand that.
Just the pro guys.

You said your Dad got you started working on ATVs.
We stripped down a whole four wheeler and built the whole thing up. When I got out of school I came home, Dad wouldn’t let me go out, and we went to work. A little bit of motor stuff, dialing in the front ends, put in the axle and swingarm.

So your pretty good about picking out problems on the track?
Pretty good, I can tell a lot.

So you know what you want.
Definitely, Tag Bars, Gibson front ends, the Axis shocks I love.

Does Axis help out?
They helped some this year.

Is there anything you would like to throw in, any good stories?
When I first ran in the C class at Macon last year I pulled the holeshot. That was the best feeling in the world.
