R450: How far are you behind 5th place?
Dustin: I think that it is like 25 or 30 points. That is Jeremiah. So 6th is the best that I can do.

R450: What do you think of the track here at Loretta Lynn’s?
Dustin: The track is a lot better than last year I think. Last year it had no lips and this year it has too much lip. I’d rather have it like this. I like it better this year.

R450: Do you like the compact track that we have here or do you like the open tracks that seem to be most common on the circuit?
Dustin: I would rather have natural terrain. This is just like dirt on a flat surface. I would like to have hills like Red Bud or Bud’s Creek.

R450: Speaking of that, what track is your favorite track?
Dustin: I would have to say probably Bud’s Creek.

R450: Well, which track is your least favorite track?
Dustin: Southwick.

R450: You’ve been on the podium a few times this year, which is great for this being your first year, so what are you looking for next year?
Dustin: I hope to be on the podium every race. The beginning of this year, I wasn’t in shape like I should have been. I wasn’t really ready. Where I live it is all snow, and I couldn’t really practice that much on the quad. School made it where I couldn’t go out and ride somewhere like California for a couple of months like some of my friends did. That hurt me.

R450: What do you actually do for training?
Dustin: I ride every weekend and every Wednesday. Also I run a lot.

R450: What do you do for training in the winter?
Dustin: I just got a snowmobile for Christmas, but there wasn’t a whole lot of snow last year. Also, it was rainy and the weather was bad, so I didn’t get to ride it a whole lot. I work out in the winter too. Not as much as I should, but this year I will. Now I know what it is all about. This is my first year and the first few races I was really out of shape.

R450: Since you graduated high school are you going to go to college now?
Dustin: Not right now. Maybe in a few years I might.
