Controversy arose soon after the first moto. John Natalie, currently second in points, was thought to have finished in sixth place but showed up in 14th on the official results. The ATVA has placed a 30 minute rule on finishing position that states all arguments must be made within 30 minutes of results postings. John’s team was a little slow in finding the error and protested the results. Our sources say, Good Luck! Moto 2: When the gate fell for the second pro moto Gust quickly grabbed the holeshot and ran wide through the first corner with Dustin Wimmer hot on his heals. Jones came through the first turn and rythme section right behind Wimmer with his eyes focused on the front. Unfortunately, his charge was short lived when he snapped off the YFZ’s subframe while blazing through the Not-Built-For-An-ATV whoop section. Jeremiah handled his situation rather professionally. We’re not sure we could have maintained such a calm appearance under the same conditions. Gust continued his lead and put second after second on the rest of the pack while building an enormous lead just like he has done so many times already this season. As the rest of the field battled for late in the season points Doug cruised through the last lap waiving to the crowd and launching his goggles into an eager sea of spectators. Dustin Wimmer ended up maintaining second for a third place overall. John Natalie finished third but missed the podium thanks to his earlier run of bad luck. Tim Farr took third for a fourth place overall. Fourth went to Joe Byrd and fifth went to Pat Brown at his first pro race.
