Welcome to Hurricane Mills, Tennessee, home of Loretta Lynn’s Dirt Days.

This event was to be one of the most exciting races of the season. As soon as the gate dropped, this race looked like it was going to be another Doug Gust Show. He managed to pull the holeshot and lead the pack from there. Actually John Natalie was in line for the holeshot, but he lost control and broke his bike. After everyone was finally by and well into lap 1 John got going and turned a lap before pulling off for a DNF.

During the first few laps Doug led followed by Tim Farr, Tavis Cain, and Jason Luburgh. Everyone else seemed to be changing positions back and forth throughout the pack. A couple of laps into the race Tim Farr moved up on Doug and took the lead. The rest of the field seemed pretty much the same. Tim led the race for about five laps when Doug passed him and once again regained the lead. As exciting as this was, there was something else happening that really caught everyone’s attention. Joe Byrd, the man who had been consistently running mid-pack all year, began to tear through the ranks from about seventh place. Not only that, he was being tailed by Jeremiah Jones.

The Tracks:
We aren’t racing dirt bikes; put some ATV tracks on the series.

The Expense:
Why does it take 10 grand to make an ATV “Race Ready”?

The Payback:
When did you ever win back that 10 grand?

The Coverage:
The coverage sucks; does anyone really know ATVs get raced?

The Technology:
Just kidding, we enjoy being 5 years behind dirt bikes.
