R450: Do you have any likes or dislikes about the ATVA Motocross circuit?
Chad: Overall this year it has been a good program. The only thing that really sticks out to me is that they need to stick to the rules once they make them. This year they have made changes to rules and the schedule to accommodate people. Last year they set the schedule in stone and it was nice to have that breakdown and know what you were going to be running all year. This year they’ve had some problems with that, but overall it has been a good year. The split is okay. I would still like to see the TT part of it, but to be honest I am more of a Motocross rider. I really like the twelve race series. I don’t think that we need more than twelve. It is nice that since we’re pretty much finished now we can start getting things ready for next year.

R450: Do you race any TT at all?
Chad: No, I haven’t raced any TT since the split.

R450: Do you think that they need to change some of the tracks that they go to?
Chad: I definitely think that they need to change up some of the tracks. There are a lot of good tracks out there. I think in order to grow we are going to have to hit some of these tracks and let some of the local racers get more involved. There are a lot of good racers that we need to give the chance to show what they’ve got.

R450: Which track is your favorite track?
Chad: Macon, Georgia is my favorite track. I love racing in the sand. Plus the jumps are good. I am a sand rider so I really enjoy that.

R450: Which track is your least favorite track?
Chad: Casey! I don’t like a dry slick track, and this year for example it was like a full on TT track with jumps on it.

R450: Do you have any advice for the less experienced riders?
Chad: The best advice that I can give someone is to have fun and stay focused. Also, try to ride as much as you can because that will help you out more than you will ever know. You have to pay your dues and don’t burn any bridges as you go.

R450: What do you do for training?
Chad: I pretty much just ride and do a little bit of running.

R450: What about in the wintertime?
Chad: I try to ride as much as possible. If I can’t ride at home, I try to go wherever I can to ride. That seems to be the best thing that we can do is just get as much time on the bike as you can.

/ Tavis Cain walked into the trailer and started talking to us. We joked around for a minute and then got back to the interview. /

R450: So how do you like riding with Tavis?
Tavis was still in the trailer at this point.
Chad: It’s great, we have a lot of fun. We have been doing this for three or four years now. We have a great friendship.

R450: Do you guys actually travel to the races together?,br> Chad: We just meet up at the Nationals. He goes his way and I go mine.

/ Tavis and Chad informed me that they were going to race Pointe de Vaux together in France. /

R450: Since you guys are going to run a race like that, are there any plans to run something else like Baja?
Tavis: Baja actually scares me a little.
Chad: No, I don’t think that we’ll be doing something like that. I’m not much of a mechanic so I wouldn’t like being stuck in the middle of nowhere with a broken bike.

/ Well Chad, thanks for your time. And good luck next year. Hopefully, everything will work out for you with Pro-Am production and the Pro class. It has been good talking to you. Enjoy the break, and we’ll see you next year at Glen Helen. \
