R450: Is Honda planning on getting more involved in the sport next year?
Tim: I don’t think so. I think that they came in and set a budget for a two year program. So pretty much everything will probably stay the same.
R450: Do you guys have any major changes that you are planning to make to the bike?
Tim: Not really. There is only so much that you can do in this production class. Major changes are hard to accomplish and stay legal.
R450: How happy are you with the TT series this year?
Tim: I love TT racing. I would love to see it go back to a more aggressive track style. I would like to see some really wide tracks that are bigger, somewhere between what TT is now and motocross. They were that way years ago with big singles and shooters, nothing to major.
R450: What do you think of this track?
Tim: It is a great facility with a lot of potential, but there are just corners and some low rollers. I’m not really impressed with it. I would have liked to see them after practice and move some lines around. Nothing moved though, and they could have done so much more.
R450: How happy are you with how you have been running the TT?
Tim: I am happy, but I made a big mistake at Danville. I rolled the line, so I got moved to the third row. I came from last to second. I think that I could have gotten Keith in a lap or two more, but I was out of time. That was my own fault. Ashtabula, I don’t have much luck there, but I’m always in the hunt. I grew up close to it, and it is a great track. It is just so much about that great big, long start. I’m a little bigger than some of the other guys so it is hard for me to get that start. Also, usually whoever gets that first corner ends up winning.
