| Jeremiah after Moto 2 at Glen Helen |
R450: What are your thoughts as far as switching from a YFZ450 to the LTZ400.
Jeremiah: I haven’t got to ride the motocross bike yet. However, Doug was just dominating last year. As far as what I have gotten to ride, the bike is more stable. Just the feel of the bike is a whole lot better than the Yamaha. There are some good and bad things to each bike, but so far, I am very happy with what I’ve got.
R450: What about the shorter stance of the Suzuki? Do you think that it is an advantage or a disadvantage?
Jeremiah: It is a little of both, but I think that it is more of an advantage though. You are always going to have traction. The shock guy can keep the bike doing what needs to be done, so we can ride it as fast as we want.
R450: After finishing fourth this year, what are you looking for next year?
Jeremiah: I would like to win the championship. Hopefully, Doug and I will be the ones fighting for the championship going into Loretta’s. With Suzuki behind us, it is just going to push us forward, hopefully in front of all of the other competitors. I think that it will make it a whole lot easier on us.
R450: When did you actually sign with Suzuki?
Jeremiah: I signed with Suzuki as soon as a week or two after Loretta’s. They came to watch Doug win the championship. I got to go to dinner with them and meet all of the people with Suzuki. They had a very good contract and a very good deal for me for next year so I went with it.
R450: Is it a one or two year deal that you signed with Suzuki?
Jeremiah: It is actually a two-year deal. It is negotiable for the second year. It is a really good deal.
R450: I know that there isn’t a plan to switch mid season to the 450 when it comes out, but are you looking forward to the 450 coming out?
Jeremiah: Definitely, the 450 is going to be lighter and faster. I don’t know if it will handle as good as what we have now, but it will definitely have a better engine. It will probably be more reliable for what we do to it. What we have right now is very good. Doug didn’t struggle at all with it. It is hard to imagine what the new bike will do.
R450: Which was your favorite track last year?
Jeremiah: Macon was probably my favorite track last year. It was wide and had plenty of places to pass. You didn’t have to worry about fighting someone to get around. You could actually go from last to first if you wanted to.
