Round 1: Glen Helen
By: Ryan Webb
Welcome back to the first round of racing. Here we are back out on the West Coast. Once again we met up with several of the aftermarket companies we only see once a year when we visit California. This was also the first chance to see all of the riders again and see what had changed. As you well know, Jeremiah Jones is now riding for Suzuki. Also, taking his place for Yamaha is Kory Ellis. Tim Farr is still with American Honda, and John Natalie has now switched to a Fox Racing Shox sponsored Honda. Joe Byrd was back on the Honda again and is sporting a cool new truck and trailer. Doug and Jeremiah were camped out in the new Suzuki semi sporting the new blue and white Team Suzuki colors this year. Keith was back in the same Lonestar rig, still running the YFZ. For the most part everybody else was about the same with the exception of freshly redesigned track. We had a beautiful day on Saturday for practice and qualifying, but Sunday wasn’t as cooperative with a little bit cooler temperatures and some rain. However, everyone pulled through and we had an exciting day of racing.
