R450 @ WCC
By: Racer 450 Staff

R450 had the opportunity to check out West Coast Choppers while we were out in Southern California last month. Expecting to see major changes from all the media attention we were pretty surprised to see that things were all in all, still pretty much the same. Although it has become a major tourist attraction itís still just a bike shop down in Long Beach.

Except for the bikes and maybe the coffin with dragster headers and a metal flake paint job, nothingís all that fancy. Itís just a gray steel building with a couple hot girls running the showroom. Nobody sees the inside of the bike shop if they donít work for Discovery Channel or receive a weekly paycheck from the man himself.

Some of the bikes setting inside the showroom included Kid Rockís El Diablo that was built on Motorcycle Mania 3 as well as Tyson Beckfordís bike. About 10 other choppers set inside the showroom including one of Chopper Daveís Old School bikes, who happened to be picking it up as we were there. Aside from the money spent on things we didnít really need, West Coast Choppers is a cool place to visit. We only hope it remains a cool low-key shop for years to come.
