ATVA MX Round 4 - Macon, GA:
Two weeks later…
The circus rolls into Macon, GA. For those who don’t know, Echeconnee is owned by ex-racer Donnie Banks. It was never intended to be on the series but thanks to an act of God this track replaced another Banks owned facility. Echeconnee is actually quite a track. It is wide long and the jumps are built for ATVs, not tore down bike jumps like many of the other tracks. It is a sand and red clay mixture that holds only the line of the last quad passing. It gets rough and cumbersome and separated those who train from the pack. It has a slightly uphill start that is about the size of a football field. The track is maintained beautifully and the track crew deserve a raise. Although it rivals a couple other tracks as being the best on the series the track’s management is largely disorganized and is even sub-par for this series, we’ll leave that for my story next month.
