Dana Creech: The Wildman
By: Ryan Webb

At Red Bud, we hooked up with ATV wild man Dana Creech for the first time. Dana is a pro rider but doesn’t hit every track. Dana does his own thing. He races a few of the tracks, does freestyle and hits the Stadium Series in the winter. Just to let you know, Dana will actually have his own video coming out before long, so you might check that out. Dana hails from Eureka, California and has been racing since he was three years old. He started out on a 60 cc three-wheeler. From there he stepped up to a Blaster, and has been racing ever since.

R450: When did you start racing the Nationals?
Dana: In 1999, I went to Loretta Lynn’s and rode the A class and won. I did the whole series in 2000 and won the A class.

R450: When did you move up into the Pro Class?
Dana: I moved up in 2002.

R450: What did you think of the changes that they made at Glen Helen this year?
Dana: I really like Glen Helen. It is probably one of the best tracks. You can pass just about anywhere. It is a wide track with good dirt on it, and I am really impressed with that track.

R450: How happy were you to see the sport come out to the West coast?
Dana: I was very happy, and I think that it needs more out there. There are a lot of people out there and all of the industry is there. All of the outside sponsors are there.

R450: Do you like the changes that have been made since you started in 2000?
Dana: I like it. I think that they need to do more, but they are going in the right direction right now.
