R450: What are your favorite tracks on the circuit?
Dana: I would have to say Macon, Red Bud, and Glen Helen.
R450: Did you like the addition of the new tracks in Texas and New York?
Dana: Definitely, I think that they are better locations. One of the big problems with the Nationals is the locations. They need to pick tracks that are close to big cities so that they can get spectators there. Glen Helen is a perfect example. Also, Steele City is a good one.
R450: Just as a reference, when the bikes come here to Red Bud, they bring in about thirty thousand people.
Dana: I think that there needs to be a lot better promotion before the races. You have to be by a city for us to draw a crowd. In the Stadium Series, we get sixty thousand people with the monster trucks and us. I can’t really get sponsors for this series or the ITP series. The only thing that I can get big sponsors for is the Stadium Series. Industry sponsors, you can get for this, but nothing outside the industry.
R450: What do you think that they need to do to get the sport promoted like it should be?
Dana: It is headed in the right direction, but we really need some TV coverage other than just on the Outdoor Channel. Not everybody has that channel.
R450: How do you like the Yamaha?
Dana: I really like it. It has been working out really well for me.
R450: Do you like the production rules?
Dana: Yeah, I think that it makes things more even, because everyone has to start with the same thing. I am really happy with my bike. It is the best bike that I have ever had.
R450: What would you think about a stock class? Basically, just nerf bars, handlebars, and maybe tires, being all that you could change to run the stock class.
Dana: That would be cool. I think that would be really good. It would allow less money to have to be spent for some of the people that want to come and race.
