Red Bud: Race Report
By: Ned
Welcome to Red Bud Racetrack. This is the crème’ de la crème’, the cream of the crop, or perhaps the track of tracks. Ladies and gentlemen, this is probably one of the best tracks for both the riders and the fans, because you can see and it is technical. Who would have ever dreamed that you could have a track that is good for both riders and fans, that is amazing. This weekend started out the same as always, the ATVA didn’t have it together, because we were told that the press passes that they were making at Gatorback were no longer going to be made. Also, this was the first race where Ray Christie was no longer a part of the Nationals. This meant that no one knew whom to talk to about, well, anything. However, the racing still went on, and the racers put on a great show.

Starting out in Moto 1, Doug Gust pulled away from the gate with the holeshot. Which after they have yet to win a race had to make Suzuki very happy. Also, to add a little icing to the cake, Jones managed to pull out with the second place on the start. Natalie who has definitely made this his year, came out with a third on the start. With the fourth place start, Jason Dunkelberger was showing what he’s got. In fifth was that Kory (Lewis) guy everyone is always talking about. Everybody else just fell into place from there with Little in sixth, Byrd in twelfth, and Farr in fifteenth. During the first lap, Natalie managed to pull into the second place spot. Just to let you know, Natalie was riding under protest of his suspension, which means that even if he wins, his points may not count if he loses the protest.

Ellis moved up into fourth in front of Dunk. There was no real change throughout the rest of the pack to this point. During the second lap, Dustin Wimmer who was in the seventh spot wrecked while passing Pat Brown. Wimmer managed to get things back together after his wreck and fall in behind Little. Gust and Natalie are fighting it out for first place. Tim Farr has managed to work his way up to challenge Joe Byrd for the twelfth spot. As the laps go by, there are a few changes throughout the meat of the pack, but the real story is the battle between Natalie and Gust.
